Jane Lynch Opening Performance in Emmys 2011

Just in case you've missed the grand opening of the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. Jane Lynch did a tremendous job and this is her first time to host the said event.

Which is your favorite part? Mine is the "Mad Men" and the "Big Bang Theory"

Aljur Abrenica for Amaya

GMA Network has extended their top rating show, Amaya for three more weeks so expect to see more twists and additional characters on the story. As far as I remember , during the time that they are promoting Amaya, they said that Amaya (Marian Rivera) is set to play three different roles (Amaya as an "Uripon", as a "Babaylan" and as a Warrior). So far, we've seen her as a naked Uripon and as a Punong Babaylan so I'm looking forward to see her portraying Amaya as a female warrior. Speaking of warrior, Aljur Abrenica is one of the confirmed actors to be added on the cast of Amaya. I assumed that he will be playing a warrior "Lapu-lapu-like" character on this series.Whether he will play a good or villain role, that is something we should look forward to.

Best MTV VMA Performances Of All Time

Tomorrow, August 28, will be the much awaited MTV's 2011 Video Music Award before putting so much buzz about this upcoming event, Billboard.com comes up with a very interesting list of 10 Best MTV VMA Performances of All time.
10. Rihanna - Distrubia/ Seven Nation Army (2008) = It's the 25th Anniversay of VMA's and Rihanna opened the show with her hit song Disturbia in a black leather outfit and spectacular performance.
9. Eminem - The Real Slim Shady/ The Way I Am (2000) = Eminem's performance is one of the VMA 2000's notable performances alongside with Britney Spears Satisfaction. Eminem performed his two singles The Real Slim Shady and The Way I Am, the performance began with Eminem's single The Real Slim Shady which started outside the Radio City Music Hall on 6th Avenue, Manhattan. Eminem continued his performance into the arena and was followed by multiple Eminem 'clones' wearing white tank tops and baggy jeans with dyed bleach blonde hair
8. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me (2009) = Swift performed "You Belong with Me" , the same day in which Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech. She began the performance in a subway station, dressed in a brown trench coat and black beanie, and continued it in a subway, taking off the trench coat and revealing a red cocktail dress. Once the subway docked at a stop, Swift completed the performance atop a yellow taxi cab.
7. Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) (2009) = Beyoncé performed her song Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) in 6 inch heels. Onstage, she performed her well-known choreography for Single Ladies with over two dozen female dancers dancing with her.
6. Madonna - Vogue (1990) = Madonna gave a memorable performance of her hit "Vogue," which featured Madonna and her dancers dressed in an 18th-century French theme, with Madonna bearing great resemblance to Marie Antoinette. The performance consisted of both a dramatic 18th-century reinterpretation of "Vogue" as well as her dramatically becorseted breasts.
5. Bon Jovi - Livin on A Prayer/ Wanted Dead or Alive (1989) = Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora turned out a legendary stripped down acoustic performance of the Bon Jovi hits "Wanted Dead or Alive & "Livin' on a Prayer," and in the process provided the inspirational spark for MTV Unplugged.
4. Madonna / Britney / Christina - Like A Virgin / Hollywood(2003) = Madonna portrayed a groom kissing her brides, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, on stage. The gender role-reversal and lesbian theme instantly made front page headlines. The three singers performed a medley of her early hit, "Like a Virgin", and her then latest release, "Hollywood", with a guest rap by Missy Elliott. The design resembled Madonna's performance of "Like a Virgin" at the 1984 VMA: the same wedding cake set, wedding dresses and "Boy Toy" belt worn by Madonna in 1984 now adorned Aguilera and Spears.
3. Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (2009) = Lady Gaga performed her song "Paparazzi" and shocked the audience when she appeared to bleed out on stage. It was actually a contraption in her outfit.
2. Britney Spears - I'm A Slave 4 U (2001) = Britney Spears gave another memorable performance when she took the stage to sing her new single, "I'm a Slave 4 U." Along with dancing in a very revealing outfit, the performance is probably most remembered for featuring the singer in a cage with a tiger and briefly dancing with a live albino Burmese Python on her shoulders.
1. Michael Jackson - Medley (1995) = Michael Jackson performed a medley of his main songs, some new songs including "Scream." Slash played guitar on "Black or White." I think, no one can beat MJ when it comes to giving remarkable performances.

Movie ReWatch #1 : Misery

I am such a big fan of Stephen King movies and "Misery" is one of my favorites alongside with The Green Mile and The Shining. Misery is one of the most respected horror films and simply untouchable. No one could ever replace Kathy Bates and her role as Annie Wilkes. She won an Academy Award for this.
The story is about the writer Paul Sheldon (James Caan) who became successful because of his novels involving the character of Misery Chastain. One day he was caught in a blizzard and his car goes off the road. He was then rescued by Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates) and brought hi to her house. His legs were broken, making Paul a bedridden and incapacitated and Annie promised him that she will soon take him to the nearest hospital as soon as the road is open which was blocked by snow that time. Annie admitted that she is Paul's number one fan and she read all his novels.
She buys a copy of Paul's latest book, Misery's Child, but after learning that he has "killed off" Misery, Annie flies into a rage, almost smashing a table on Paul's head.
Annie Revealed that nobody knows where Paul is and most of them thought that he's dead. Paul tries to escape but Annie locked him inside. He even try kill Annie during a candlelit dinner but he failed. He asked Paul to burn his newest manuscripts and write a new one and bring her Misery back to live. During another escape attempt, Paul finds a scrapbook of newspaper clippings about his disappearance and Annie's past. He discovers that she was suspected and tried for several infants' deaths.

Meanwhile, the local Sheriff is investigating Paul's disappearance and visits Annie, prompted by discovering a quote she used from a Misery book during her trial years earlier. While there, he finds that Paul has been drugged and hidden in the basement. Annie shoots and kills him.Paul finished his book and requested Annie to give him a cigarette and a glass of champagne since it is his habit after ending a novel.
Annie gave him the cigar and a glass of champagne, and then he asked Annie to get another glass to join him drinking. When Annie returns, he sets the book on fire. She tries to put out the fire, but Paul hits her head with the typewriter. Annie shoots him in the shoulder and he lunges at her. During the ensuing fight, Paul trips Annie, causing her to land head-first on the typewriter. Annie lunges at him but he strikes her over the head with a small steel pig statue, killing her.

It was such an amazing movie and never get tired of watching it over and over again. This is when the movie is still innocent and not so daring. Kudos for Misery
