Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a 2012 American action fantasy horror film based on the 2010 mashup novel of the same name. The real-life figure Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States (1861–1865), is portrayed in the novel and the film as having a secret identity as a vampire hunter.

► This is the first big role for Benjamin Walker. He initially starred as Andrew Jackson in the Alex Timbers/Michael Friedman musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson
According to Benjamin, he read a number of biographies on Lincoln to help prepare for the role.
Benjamin Walker beat Adrien Brody, Josh Lucas, James D'Arcy, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen for the role.
►The author , Seth Grahame-Smith, was praised for transforming the greatest figure from 19th century American history into the star of an original vampire tale with humor, heart and bite is a rare find indeed.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter debuted on June 22, 2012 in the United States screening at 3,108 theaters. It grossed $6,300,000 on its opening day, domestically and $701,000 at its midnight showings and ended up grossing $16.6 million over the weekend in third place behind Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and Disney Pixar's Brave.
► The film will feature Linkin Park's song "Powerless", from their 2012 album Living Things.
