Lea Salonga is Now a Disney Legend

Our Very own Lea Salonga is now a Disney Legend. She was recognized as one of the Disney Legends last Friday, August 19, at the D23 Expo. Disney Legend recognizes men and women who have made an extraordinary and integral contribution to The Walt Disney Company. The honor is awarded annually during a special ceremony.
Lea provided the singing voice of two Disney "princesses": Jasmine in Aladdin (1992), and Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998) and Mulan II (2004).
She is the first one to sing the Oscar and Grammy Award winning song , A Whole New World and sung the original version of Reflection which was eventually recorded by Christina Aguilera.
Each honoree is represented by a bronze plaque; the plaque features the recipient's handprints and signature if they were living when named a Disney Legend.
Aside from Lea, there are also 11 more recipients of the said award including ; Jodi Benson (singing voice of Ariel from Little Mermaid), Paige O'Hara (the singing voice of Belle from Beauty and The Beast), Linda Larkin (the voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (voice of Tiana from The Princess and The Frog) and more.
